Week 1 Recap: Claudia Liddle (MUURS Intern)

“My first week involved a lot of reading. I have realized all the different aspects of my topic I would be able to research, and am having trouble narrowing my research down because all of them seem so interesting! I have mostly accomplished the acquisition of a lot of background information and hope to start my true research soon. I hope to work with my mentor to apply a critical lens to my chosen topic in order to more fully understand the implications of the gender divisions within the Israeli military.
I applied for the MUURS program for the summer because I wanted to be involved in independent research to determine if it is something I enjoy. When considering graduate school choices I want to have some strong research experience on which to base my program decision.”

Claudia Liddle, MU Senior
Major: Political Science and Peace Studies
Mentor: Dr. John Galliher
Research Area: Israeli women in the military
